The article concerns the issue of retrofitting (i.e., conversion worn-out diesel buses into electric buses). As this solution is often cheaper than purchasing new buses, it can be attractive for low-population areas with a weaker economic infrastructure. aims to present an original method rapidly selecting components traction system, such as motor, inverter, and transmission systems, combined battery installed in drawer. swapping dedicated regions underdeveloped power infrastructure that does not allow fast charging bus batteries using pantographs. A mathematical model form polynomial was developed estimate energy losses given route. This consists physics model, loss propulsion model. weight coefficients polynomials were determined based on analytical analysis dependencies. obtained models reduced Lasso regularization linear regression. input data includes route characteristics (or driving cycle) technical system components. output provides detailed profile consumption peak values drive (e.g., maximum torque motor) which must exceeded. Implemented computer software, model—combined database motors, inverters, batteries—allows quick calculation possibilities applying selected configuration cover approach proposed enables rapid composition devices required conditions during initial vehicle prototyping stage.
